Sacramento-Area Mother of Two Shaving Head for a Cure to Breast Cancer: |
Folsom, CA (Aug 31, 2010) – Megan Crawley, a 28 year old mother of two boys and employee of Folsom-headquartered AgreeYa Solutions, will be shaving her head in an effort to raise awareness and donations toward a cure for breast cancer. Megan is doing this as a tribute to a coworker’s daughter who was recently diagnosed with the disease, and as part of her participation in the San Francisco Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure. Megan has a website at www.Buzz4aCure.com which tells her story and that of her coworker’s daughter, Monique Griffith. Monique is also a wife and mother living in the Sacramento area. Of her efforts, Megan said, “I am doing this as a statement, a tribute to women affected by a disease. I am a 28 year old married mother of two who is completely healthy. I know many people who have been affected by breast cancer and I can’t imagine how it must feel to have to go through what so many women do.” Megan continued, “As a woman, I understand what your hair means to you. These women don’t have a choice when they lose their hair. I tried to think of something that I could do raise money for cancer research as well as be supportive and try to walk a mile in their shoes. I then decided what better way to raise money than to shave my head for donations and have the proceeds go to the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure?” Megan will be participating September 26th in the Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure in San Francisco with Monique Griffith’s family, including Monique’s father, her coworker at AgreeYa Solutions. Megan’s head will be shaved in front of a live audience at Old Europe in Folsom, on Semptember 10th at 7:30pm. The public is invited to attend and donations to Megan’s Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure efforts may be made at www.Buzz4aCure.com. |
